Johannesburg, South Africa – March 25–27, 2026 – BENY, a leading innovator in DC power transmission and distribution technology, successfully concluded its participation at Solar & Storage Live Africa 2026, held at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. Exhibiting at Hall 2, Booth H2-B40, BENY presented its latest DC protection solutions designed to improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage systems.

Recognized as one of Africa’s largest renewable energy exhibitions, Solar & Storage Live Africa connects developers, utilities, EPC contractors, and policymakers driving the region’s energy transition. With a focus on solar power, battery storage, smart energy management, and e-mobility infrastructure, the event provides a platform for showcasing practical technologies and fostering collaboration that supports sustainable energy development across the continent.
At the exhibition, BENY highlighted its DC-side protection solutions, showcasing systems designed for modern photovoltaic installations operating under diverse environmental and grid conditions. The portfolio demonstrated reliable protection across PV generation and DC distribution stages, while selected AC protection products were briefly introduced to illustrate compatibility within integrated solar and storage systems.

Featured products included:
BENY showcased the BB1-63 miniature circuit breaker and the BDM-250 DC molded case circuit breaker, both designed for photovoltaic power distribution systems. The BB1-63 supports flexible pole configurations and DIN-rail installation, with specifications of 4P / DC1200V / 63A, providing reliable overload and short-circuit protection at the string level. The BDM-250 complies with IEC 60947-2 standards, operating up to DC 500V with rated currents up to 250A and a breaking capacity of 15kA, ensuring dependable circuit protection for commercial and industrial solar and energy storage applications.
BENY also introduced the newly launched BB1-125 DC circuit breaker, developed for energy storage systems. Supporting system voltages up to DC 1000V and rated currents up to 125A, the BB1-125 is suitable for installation in combiner boxes and energy storage systems, enhancing operational safety while expanding BENY’s DC protection portfolio.
2. DC Surge Protection Devices
The BUD-40/2 DC surge protection device, designed in accordance with IEC/EN 61643-31, provides effective protection against lightning and transient overvoltage. With a maximum discharge current of 40kA and a response time less than or equal to 25 ns, it safeguards inverters and critical DC equipment while improving overall system resilience.

3. DC Fuse & Isolation Solutions
BENY also presented the BR-30 DC fuse holder together with the BYSS series PV Switch-disconnector, designed for application in photovoltaic combiner boxes and inverter systems. The BR-30 supports secure fuse installation within combiner boxes and DC distribution systems, providing reliable overcurrent protection. The BYSS series enables safe DC isolation for maintenance and emergency operations, offering multiple pole configurations and dependable switching performance, thereby enhancing operational safety and system reliability across PV installations.
4. String-Level Rapid Shutdown Device
BENY also presented its string-level rapid shutdown device, designed to reduce DC voltage to a safe level within seconds during emergency shutdown or maintenance. The solution supports string-level control with a maximum system voltage of DC 1500V and integrates RS485 communication for real-time monitoring and remote operation. Installed at the module string level, the device enables rapid disconnection between modules and inverters, helping meet international solar safety requirements while supporting stable operation in residential, commercial, and utility-scale applications.

BENY’s participation in Solar & Storage Live Africa 2026 reflects its commitment to supporting Africa’s clean energy transition.
