Application

The BFS-A2 is a module-level solar rapid shutdown device that ensures fire safety for solar installations by maintaining continuous rapid shutdown functionality throughout the PV system’s lifespan.

It automatically shuts down when the temperature exceeds 100°C, requires no additional configuration, is compatible with any string inverter, and offers flexible installation options. The emergency button switch enables manual rapid shutdown and responds to local or regional grid shutdowns.

PV RAPID SHUTDOWN DEVICE SOLUTIONS

To comply with NEC 2017/2020 requirements, if PV panels exceed 40V, a 1-to-1 configuration is required to meet regulatory standards.

The diagram above illustrates a typical 1-to-1 configuration using three solar panels and three BFS-A2 devices for protection. One additional component on the rooftop is the communication cable connecting the BFS-A2 units to the button switch.
