BFS-A1 is a rapid shutdown switch for connection to PV panel arrays to achieve compliance with 2014 NEC 690.12 and 2017 NEC 690.12.

Application

BFS-A1, a module-level solar rapid shutdown device, ensures fire safety for solar installations by maintaining continuous rapid shutdown functionality throughout the PV system’s lifespan.
With automatic shutdown at temperatures exceeding 100℃, it requires no setup, is compatible with any string inverter, and offers flexibility in positioning.
The emergency switch unit allows for Manual Emergency Shutdown and responds to local or area grid shutdowns.

How the solution works?

PV RAPID SHUTDOWN DEVICE SOLUTIONS
For NEC 2017/2020 compliance,if the PV panel >40V,1-to-1 configuration should be required in order to meet regulatory compliance.
The diagram below illustrates a typical 1-to 1 configured BFS protected installation using three solar panels and three BFS-A1. One more thing on the rooftop is the connection of BFS-11/BFS-12 RSD and the button switch via a communication cable.

A complete RSD solution
